Bored of public accounting - looking for fp&a job

Hey everyone I'm sure my story is one not too uncommon. I've worked in public accounting at a top 10 CPA firm for about a year and am honestly just bored of it. A friend of mine in investment banking suggested I begin looking for a career in fp&a at any large public company to begin to change my career path. As of now, my plan would be to work as an analyst for a few years, get into as good of an mba program as possible and see what doors that opens up. Looking forward to hearing from anyone that has taken a similar path or if anyone thinks my plan sucks!
