breaking into strategy consulting - NATO internship?

Hello guys,

here my situation:

I graduated in Computer Engineering (MSc, best grade, Magna Cum Laude) at the end of April in a top3 Italian engineering university, with a thesis on Big Data management completed during an internship in the department of Computer Science at the University of Michigan. In May I was hired at Accenture Management Consulting in Milan and actually I work on Analytics and Business Intelligence within Financial Services (mainly on credit risk management to support the Basel II regulatory framework implementation in Italian and European leading banking institutions).

My goal is to finish in 2-3 years into pure strategic consulting (Boston Consulting Group, Bain, McKinsey, etc.) after an MBA in a top-15 b-school (Strong quantitative skills, 750 GMAT).

A few weeks ago I was selected for a 6 months internship at NATO in the ICT Management - Enterprise Information Management - Project Management & Processes division beginning in March 2015 in Brussels. This internship is highly selective (40 candidates selected out of 8000 admission requests), my questions to you all are on these points:

1. How it would be considered for a top strategy consulting firm's recruiter the transition to a NATO internship, breaking the work experience at Accenture after only 10 months?

2. What do you think would be more interesting to do in order to break into Strategy Consulting? Accept the internship because of the international experience that would enrich my CV and my skills and therefore be more attractive to MBA recruiters & Strategy Firms' recruiters, or continue the experience at Accenture?

I thank you all in advance for your kind attention and availability!

Best Regards,

EC
