Current PhD (Oncology) Student Looking to Dive Into the Business World

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in my 4th year of my PhD in oncology on the west coast of Canada and I'm striving to be productive while completing my degree. I'm on track to graduate with a reasonable amount of publications but I would like to further my understanding of the business world, specifically improving my business sense for when I look to start a small company / join a start up. 

Currently I've joined a non-profit providing strategy consulting in a team to various clients and I'm in the process of founding a group at my university that brings business and consulting skills to graduate students.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience from this prospective and might have any insight?
