Career Resources
Former chemical engineering student at a top 20 school here. The professor that got me into finance is active in the VC scene. I would look for networking oppourtunities with former engineers. Take elective courses as close to business as you can (we had some operations ones). If you don't get a finance-related internship, don't worry too much. Just keep your grades high, get involved, and build meaningful relationships. Look into MSF or MFE to give yourself more oppourtunities to network in a desirable location.
Can you elaborate on your current position? We have a relatively small Chem Eng. program and I don't know anyone who got into Finance from our department yet. How did you prepare for the transition? Thanks for the input!
My situation is a bit complicated, didn't break in yet but that's the plan. Send me a PM.
