From a student in Baltimore

Hello, I'm an undergraduate freshman who recently became interested in investment banking. Like many others, I joined this site to interact with and learn from those more experienced than I am.
Currently, I'm attempting to land a first internship at Morgan Stanley in Baltimore in order to gain some knowledge of the industry. I'm throwing out these questions with this first post in case anyone here is able to answer them:

1) I will be attending an information session and have been asked to choose between the Operations and Finance divisions for the event. Can anyone elaborate on the responsibilities of those divisions beyond what is written on Morgan Stanley's website (and what kind of person is more suited to each role)?

2) For those with a job in investment banking--is there any advice you would give to someone my age? (Things you wish you had done earlier, etc.)

Thanks in advance and I'm glad to be a part of this community!
