Greetings from England.

Hello to everyone at WSO.

My name is Philip.R.Smith-Lawrence and I run a company that supplies, installs and commissions biomass boilers for public and private sector organisations here in the UK.

I also help my clients claim revenue from the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme launched here in the UK. The RHI is a £860 million Government backed fund that pays the owners of biomass boilers for generating heat/hot water, as well as reducing their CO2 emissions.

The reason I have joined WSO is to learn about the workings of investment/Asset Management organisations in the US, as I intend to approach a certain number of the aforementioned, with a view to opening discussions about putting in place a fund to back our Free to Fit biomass boiler model, where the funds claim the RHI and carbon credits form the £860 million UK scheme, but more about that at a later date.

For now I will be reading various threads that take my interest and contributing to other threads, where I can.

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Phil.

Hello Senior Gorilla, Thank you for the welcome and I can assure you it is not, nor was it intended as a 'spam' post. I wanted to outline my position and reasons for joining WSO.

Great! Just one question, are you certain that you don't want to keep your anonymity on this public online forum? Most of us here keep our identities private because of possible future complications, but it's entirely up to the user.

All the best!

Thanks for the advice and I can understand why some may want to retain their anonymity but I am more than happy to have my details on this public for forum.

No worries, Boreed. After seeing this gentleman's first move, you know there will be no witty quick humor out of his mouth. He is speaking for his organization.

Thanks for the reply midtowngal. I am sure I will be able to accommodate you, and the forum, with some witty quick English humour, although it may be dark humour at times.

Proper English? It is my understanding that the good people of America have a fairly good grasp of the language already. And please, address me by my name as I have not yet been knighted, so 'sir' is not necessary.

I most certainly will and the day a knighthood is conferred upon me I shall extend an invite to you to attend the investiture. That said, and taken the UK Government's predilection towards the financial community at present, it is more likely that a period at Her Majesty's pleasure may ensue sooner than a knighthood !
