hope this is a place with answers

Hello every one. I'm handullz and have been coming here for awhile but Never signed up.

I'm a first year masters in science finance student at a very large yet very low ranked public Texas university .

I'm having such a hard time braking into the finance field. No internships in undergraduate , no experience , no anything .

I'm currently selling cell phones to put my way thru college so I'm hoping this will be a place that's willing to tachvme somethings..

Step 1) Spell 'breaking' and 'through', you did so well on everything else Step 2) Proper formatting and grammar, too many spaces in that 3rd paragraph

Obligatory grammar-douche part done.

As you're in the US I'd say your best bet is to trawl alumni databases and LinkedIn and see if you can find anyone from your school currently working on the Street. If you can't find any - look harder. Also check around with close friends and family members to see if they know anyone.

Once you find people, introduce yourself to them, explain the situation and ask if they can give you any helpful advice (make sure your introductory emails are damn perfect though).

Not going to lie to you, you will struggle with no relevant experience and at a no-name university. However, with enough hustle and networking it can be done. Make sure your have an extremely tight and coherent story about your background, WHY YOU WANT TO DO FINANCE and knowing some technicals wouldn't hurt either. Buy any corporate finance / accounting book and learn the basics.
