Just wondering how the starting salary of IBD in Houston (BofA in specific) compares to that of their BB offices in NYC. Anyone have any idea?
If you're working at the Houston office of a BB your comp will be the same as the comp of the NY analysts, and in fact you will actually out-earn them because of the lack of state tax and lower cost of living. In some cases for firms where they have Energy teams in Houston and in NY, Houston Analysts may even earn higher bonuses than the NY Analysts because the deal flow and amount of work may be greater in Houston.
Nominally the same, really about 20% higher.
