Was recommended that I come here to ask question and get advice.
I live in Austin, and last month was introduced to the world of finance modeling. I fell in love. I wish someone would have introduced me to it in college.
My goal is to have an analyst job at a hedge fund, or anywhere, where I can get paid to research and model companies doing genomics (or closely related). The fact that you can get paid well to understand as much as possible about an industry and its enterprises is fantastic.
Currently, I’m going to start a contractor role at a small firm that just started up, doing financial modeling and client generation. I got the role because of my experience in the industry the firm is targeting. They are aware of my current limited financial knowledge.
If anyone has any advice for my situation and how to get to a role on WS as an analyst, I’ll always give my utmost attention.
