Just got offer for summer internship in NYC!

Hi everyone. This is my intro post but I also have a question and since my account is new, I’m also posting it here. My name is Andy, I’m from the Midwest, and just got a summer internship in NYC which has been a long term goal of mine.

My question is about summer housing (maybe I’ll repost once I have more bananas?):

I have a $5,000 stipend for housing for 10 weeks, which isn’t really enough for the corporate housing options I could find, so I’m looking for a sublet.

Anyone have experience with this? I’ve been warned of scams and to see things in person, but I don’t know anyone in NYC and live a thousand miles away, so I can’t just visit to tour places.

Any advice?
