Medical school applicant contemplating consulting
Currently applying to medical school (30 schools; 8 interviews lined up). I like medicine and see myself practicing for a while but I also realize that in this era you have to be a "physician +". I am investigating other areas to explore. I might be a physician + clinical researcher, Physician + public health research, or possibly physician + consulting.
I always wanted to dabble in consulting so I am using this site to gain more understanding of the business world.
Consulting is cool but if you go through the whole of med school I think you'll end up missing a lot of the science stuff. Consulting is awesome but traditional consulting varies a lot. Look into healthcare or life science consulting at firms like ClearView Healthcare Partners, Charles River Associates, Putnam Associates, IQVIA or Trinity Partners.
My undergrad was biology. I did a lot of biomedical research (cancer, immunology, chem), presented and have few low levels publications. I will continue clinical research in med school and beyond.
Do you think my science would still be lacking?
