Mike - New user intro

WSO was highly recommended by an alumnus. I'm a non-traditional student, being an 8+ year veteran as an Army Infantryman. Since my school, Penn State, isn't a target school, and I am with the World Campus instead of the main campus, I wanted to take advantage of as many resources as possible. Right now, I'm still over a year from graduation, and trying to widen my network and nail down what I think is the best move for me to make next.

I'm always glad to connect with others, and if I can offer any insight I'm more than happy to do so.

Mike

Welcome!

Thanks for serving our country and I hope you find the information and community you're looking for here. I have.

One piece of advice:

Unless you already thought of this and are using a psuedonym, you might want to consider masking your identity somewhat. You can always connect with members of the WSO community "in real life" once you make those connections, but lots of people visit this site and you may not want just anyone knowing your identity, especially if you use the site to express yourself/complain/opine/argue/etc.

Up to you, but most (the vast majority?) use a pseudonym and still connect with others in real life through linkedin when the time is right.

Good luck on in school and see you around the community!

Hey I go to PSU too! I'm sitting in the Trading Room right now :)

Check out PSIA, the Finance Society (more focused on Main Street than Wall Street) and the Nittany Lion Fund. There's great people in all three.
