New guy in the block

hello all, I hope I'm in the right section to introduce myself.

My current job is airline pilot in Canada, it has no direct link with finance.
I intended to be a trader when I was a teenager but you never know what life will throw at you and I had to adapt, progress and work to gradually reach my goals. One of them being Airline Pilot.

Approaching mid 40's I know it's way too late to begin something at a professional level in the finance industry.

What Am I doing here then ? Trying to grab some valuable information while trying not to be a "minus", about proprietary trading since I have enough free time to seriously pursue a second activity. I know trading is a job, it has its own culture, knowledge, and of course, a huge technical aspect. This is something I wanna do with a professional mindset, in a professional manner.

There are some similarities between flying and trading. The discipline, the method, knowing when not to. It's great.

thanks S.
