New here and have few starter questions

Hello all, I'm about to start at a community college in Charlotte in the spring and hopefully transfer into UNC after a few semesters. I've got my sights set on getting into IB in the long run. I've been reading everything I can get my hands on about the industry and had a few questions.

What can I do now to prepare for the type of work I'll potentially be doing?
Where should I look for the latest news about deals going on (wsj,ft,bloomberg)?
How can I start to gain a network?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also pretty excited to see what kind of stuff Dick Fuld has posted.

Start doing some finance internships... It doesn't have to IB, but anything to get your feet wet and put some experience on your resume. The more experience, the easier time you'll have for the eventual IB internship you'll want to get in your junior year.
