New To Finance
I have recently been looking into the financial sector as a potential career area for me, but I don't have many people to talk about it with and teach me, so I happened to find this site and wanted some help.
My first question that is what are the differences in the various branches of the financial industry, such as investment banking, hedge funds, corporate finance, private equity, etc. I have a general idea from my own research, but a more detailed answer would be fairly helpful.
My next question is what are the jobs that you can have within finance and what personality traits and skills are associated with each.
Lastly, what are some good undergrads to go to for finance, besides the obvious private schools. Also, are schools in Canada, like McGill and UBC, good for wanting to getting onto Wall Street?
Appreciate all of the support. Thanks!
FutureFinancial, not ripping on you but there is a TON of information on this site and it makes me thin you have not researched properly.
People in front office finance roles (investment banking - so M&A and S&T and Equity Research) tend to be very Type A.
