seeking advice as a hotel management students

hi, i am a hotel management student which is currently doing my internship and i have been wondering about what am i suppose to do in order for me to climb up into a higher position in the future after i have gotten my degree. currently i am doing my diploma in hotel management and will be graduating in this coming December. i am interested in food and beverage department. as i am now 21 years old. i wish to get a clearer guidance on how i can get into a higher position in a shorter time. while i am studying, i did went out to work part time job for banquet and events to gain more experience.
