You could try finding out from coworkers about mobility first... just strike up a friendship and ask if anyone has moved in to a front office role candidly. 110% study for the CFA for the time being, it's a no brainer, show your passion for the field you desire to be in with the benefit of gaining knowledge you can use when networking/for interviews. If all else fails then smash the GMAT and I am sure you can get in a top 10 school.
Its really a decision if you want to stay and climb the ladder or Move somewhere else. if you really like it there or at least you like parts of it than stay, if not than get outta there.
