Where do I start after community college?

Hello WSO,

I am currently in my final year of community college and will be transferring to Rutgers University (either NB or Newark) this upcoming fall semester and plan on majoring in Finance. After doing my research and speaking to a few of my business professors, I would love to work as an analyst and would really like to gain experience as soon as possible. Sadly for CC students, there are no internships available. (from what I was told.) My goal is to work in either private equity or investment banking once I graduate from Rutgers, which I am aware is not a target school. As of now, I am doing my Bloomberg Market Concepts Certification and plan on getting certified in Microsoft Office. What else should I do? What advice would you guys offer to help me start working towards my goal?

Thank you.
