Business Newspapers, What do you get from them? Your Favorites?
I'm doing research on what the sell side and the buy side get from reading their business newspapers, WSJournal, etc. I'm hoping some fellow monkeys can help me out.
1. Why do you(your firm) read/subscribe to the newspaper? ex: You're in IB and want to see what deals are done? You're in PE and you want to know what what competing PE firms just raised in capital?
2. What is the sections you visit most in the newspaper? ex: WSJ Pro, the funds section of the PE category, or the Exits?
3. How reliant and enjoyable do you find your interactions with the drop menus for searching news by industries is? ex: You're in a TMT group and only care to see the tech sector, or maybe you have some of free time between pitch books so you look at other sectors...
I greatly appreciate all genuine participation, thanks.
usually read straight up from Cision / PRNewswire, the major finance newspapers are just too generic and for the mom and pop. As a student PE Hub Wire has been phenomenal and you get a lot of info even without subscription. Other than that I read industry specific newsletters as well.
Do you usually use the databases? The LG, LP databases and searches on the Buyouts and PE Hub I feel are only really useful if you're in the PE maybe IB industry specifically.
Definitely not a retail investors site lol.
