IB FT - London Relocation

Hello fellow monkeys, I’m moving to London with my girlfriend after landing a FT in the #1 EBB (think RBC / GS / JPM) and need some advice. I’m looking for a safe but affordable area to rent as I’m trying to save some of the greens. Any neighborhoods I should check out?

Also, what hidden expenses should I expect besides rent? I’ve heard transport can add up—how much should I budget, and is biking to work practical? Is it even worth it living far from work to save on rent or it’s not worth with increased transport costs?

Finally, any tips on the best websites to find legit apartments? I’m trying to avoid scams or overpriced tourist traps.

Thanks in advance for the help! Godspeed
