Investment Banking study/intern abroad

I am currently a freshman in college deciding if I should study abroad the spring semester of my sophomore year in London. I want to have an internship during the summer between my sophomore and junior year in either London or NYC. Will being abroad ruin any chance of an internship in NYC? If I do intern in London, will it actually be useful when applying for jobs in NYC?
