Anywhere in Chinatown. Very accessible to West End (10 min walk max), very good food and quick service - easy to walk in and get a table. Bring some cash just in case

I feel like a clarification here might be hugely value-adding. There are a lot of horrific buffets and questionable (Wong Kei?) dining...experiences in Chinatown.

Four Seasons are the champions of roast duck (connoisseurs of Gold Mine may beg to differ), and Jin Li has excellent Sichuan food. I haven't tried everywhere, but those would be my go-to. As a pro tip, Jin Li doesn't have 回锅肉 ("hui guo rou") on the menu, but if you ask for it they'll know what you mean and offer you their "version" of it which is dynamite.

While we're on the topic of cheap but great value Asian food in that area, special shout out to Eat Tokyo for being brilliant and barely changing prices since I was a student, and Seoul Plaza for top tier take-out
