London vs NYC - lifestyle

So this topic has already been covered a few years ago, however with all the recent changes I felt it might be good to update it a little. Whether it is for prospective bankers or experienced professionals, which city do you think is the most enjoyable? How different are the work culture, compensation, hiring opportunities? Most importantly, how would you compare life outside the office? Which are the pros and cons for both cities? Finally which city would you recommend?

Feel free to comment on any aspect that in your opinion favors one city over the other!

Having lived in both places, I believe that London is far superior in terms of culture, but NY has a great selection of restaurants, plays, etc, plus you can easily get to Europe if you so choose (as it's much closer than on the East Coast).
