Now Follow your Favorite WSO Members in New "My Feed" View

We just added a new functionality that allows you to now follow any of your favorite users on WSO easily. If you want to follow a particular user all you have to do is click on the small blue "+" icon next to their usernames in the forum or on their profile page. Or you can buddy them (but buddies require them to accept that request whereas a follow is just a 1 way relationship)

Either way, after following or making a user you buddy, all of their posts and comments will then start appearing in your "My Feed" tab which can be located under the Recent menu or at //www.wallstreetoasis.com/my-feed ....

We are looking to add in some additional fucntionality over the next few weeks to My Feed including:

  1. Ability to follow companies in our Company Database. Ideally if you are following a company, your feed would show you anytime a new Company review, Interview Insight or Compensation Datapoint was posted about that company.

  2. Node-javascript....this will allow the feed to update in real time without refreshing your browser (just like your Facebook news feed). If we can get it to work and it doesnt crush our servers, we think this could be an awesome feature across many parts of the site including the home page (especially since we now have a lot more updates to the home page daily)....

That is all for now on this feature....we're working hard to get this to you because we think it will make WSO that much more of a community.

Thanks,
Patrick
