public transport is much more efficient in london than cars. parking is a fucking nightmare. almost no one i know has a car. don't waste your time/money.

Nah, bad idea. As the user above said, its a nightmare. Plus, if you need it for a particular occasion you can rent/carshare for very little in London. Getting a car in London is not worth the trouble.
