Self Harm Scars or a Tattoo

I was in a rough period for a while and have some scars on my underside of the forearm. I really want to cover them with a tattoo since I hate seeing them. However, I am worried getting a tattoo may look unprofessional. On the other hand, I am scared of being judged due to my self harm scars at the work place.

If it helps, the tattoo I plan on getting is of a math equation.

I think in general it's a good idea to have tattoos that aren't visible at work if you are in IB. Personally I don't care - but some of the older folks might be slightly judgmental. I might be old and out of touch though lol (in my 30s).

You also might cover your arms a lot at work anyway with your shirt. If they just look like normal scars from an accident, etc I don't think you'll be judged just for having scars. Hard to know the specifics of your situation.

Thanks for your reaponse. I plan on wearing long sleeves most of the time at work. So it should be fine?

The only reason why I want a tattoo is so that I dont look at my arm and feel disgusted. I also dont want to ruin my future career prospects because of this decision.

Get a Japanese Koi fish on your arm.

Get the tattoo to feel better about yourself. You’re going to want to be wearing long sleeves professionally with or without it. Might as well wear long sleeves and be happy.
