UK Election Debrief

Tory wipeout as expected. Labour 410+ seats, Conservatives lingering on the 120 mark (better than any of the polls that suggested 50-60 seats maximum). Lib Dems did well in the 'Blue Wall' ; record high of 71 seats. Another expected result was Reform getting 4m votes for only 5 seats (exit poll had them at 13) and lesser expected was the SNP crushing. Few independents beating Labour on a sole Gaza ticket. Want to hear other thoughts, what Labour will do etc and who will the Tories elect as next leader?

The UK conservative party deserved to lose every seat and see all of its existing members completely driven out of politics. Such a joke.

This definitely captures the sentiment of the UK right now, but the reality is the opposition is marginally, if at all, better. I don't see how things get better over the next 12 months given the root cause of issues driving problems will likely be accelerated, and net emigration of the wealthy spirals upwards. UK, like others, has a very unclear road ahead

Oh I don't expect anything to get better and wholly believe the worsening of Britain will be accelerated. The Conservative party was just a bad joke for their namesake and deserves to lose whatever misplaced faith the public had in them. As far as I'm concerned the UK has been a lost cause for the better part of 20 years.
