I've been using WST for Excel extensively, but I'm about to start a new role and am a bit concerned about not having my own computer.
Does anyone know if banks typically allow employees to download software like WST through IT support?

It depends. If you're at a smaller or more boutique IB, then you might be ok. If you're going to a larger institutional bank (e.g. your BBs), then I think you're unlikely to be able to download external software. I'm at one of those larger places and we for sure can't download 3rd party software (maybe you could make a case to IT to make an exception but I haven't tried it). We also can't use ChatGPT, file-sharing websites, personal emails, Google Translate, and a host of other sites, in case anyone is wondering.
