Yeah used to be outraged but life is just so much better when you ignore all the noise, hop off social media

There was an article in the FT recently about this (think it was called “A case for denial” more on russia/eu stuff though)

We are in terminal decline, but most people on here will not be affected by a lot of the decline - if you live in the London banana you rarely are affected by anything other than the occasional deliveroo driver that can’t speak English.

The empire is dead and the barbarian horde is at the gates (or coast). Let us eat cake.

Some of these cases are genuinely dubious and rightfully raise concerns over free speech whilst others have been laundered despite explicitly advocating for violence. It’s not as bad as right-wing media reports, but it’s not non-existent either. Would just remind you that the UK has always flirted with authoritarianism, and I wouldn’t try to apply American ideals there.

Like someone else mentioned, if you live in the banana it’s not really something that affects you. The mishandling of the economy the current government is executing is more of a pertinent concern. And the taxes. Those are only going to go up, regardless of who’s in power.
