In the recent years, the Business world has shifted trends faster than anyone could possibly imagine, with new fashionable catch words like “disruption” & a completely new mindset from the generation who was born in parallel to Windows XP.
As much as we don’t like to admit it (I know we like Finance to be exclusive to Prestigious institutions), and even though it was slower than in other sectors, Alternative Finance has emerged and we can only expect it to grow further.
We have seen peer to peer lending, Wealth & Advisory platforms like Betterment, crowdfunding solutions, ETFs,
However IB is probably the only function that Alternative Finance has not yet tackled. I also know that by nature, IB is hard to replace simply by an App or something of the sort.
But I am sure that banking will not be the same in 2030, so for all of you, where do you think is it moving? And what will change?
For me I think that other than technology, the CorpFin teams of all companies would be capable of advising themselves with little to no support from IBs in the future.
