Am I making the correct choice?

I recently graduated and have two options on the table.

1) A paid ($15-18 per hour) internship at a C round startup that has raised $120+ million. There is an opportunity for full-time employment at the conclusion of the internship, but I do not know what department it will be in. The internship is between 5-6 months.

2) A job in business operations/strategy at an A round startup that is backed by several first-tier VCs. The starting compensation is $55,000-$60,000 with 25,000 shares.

I'm 95% sure that I should take the risk with the A round startup since it's an actual job with equity.

B is clearly the answer here. In general, having experience at Series A startups is more attractive to VC firms and other startups as well. The strategy / ops role should give you a great learning ground as the business grows (or fails).

Sure there is probably a bigger risk of failure, but not by that much and youre ~22 years old if your company goes under you can always just find another job.
