Associate Relationship Manager at PNC Commercial/Corporate Bank??
Hey Guys,
I am currently working on a corporate credit role at a BB bank. Recently was reached out by a recruiter at PNC about this "Associate Relationship Manager" role at their commercial/corporate bank. From what the recruiter told me, it sounds just like a typical corporate banking role (pitch books, financial/credit analysis, research, etc). However, since I was not able to find too much relevant info about this particular position online, I was wondering if anyone here can give me some insights into this one or other similar PNC's Commercial/Corporate banking roles?
Any info regarding compensation, personal growth, reputation, deal flow, exit ops, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
Generally Associate Relationship Manager is a buffer role between an analyst and the actual banker. You work with the other relationship managers in a client facing capacity, but don't actually hold your own portfolio.
I'd take it if a corporate banker (relationship manager - whatever you want to call it) is what you want to do long term, but definitely avoid if commercial banking isn't something you want as a career.
Thanks for the insights. If I plan to go to MBA in 2-3yrs, do you think a relationship manager role background would be helpful?

soup guys -
I was invited to take part in PNC's second and final round - a Super Friday - in Pittsburg, PA. The company sets you into the track that they think you belong in within Corporate Banking. I was placed in the Relationship Management / Credit track.
Does anyone have an idea what this type of work involves? It seems like PNC wants to keep this stuff a secret because they do not tell you which position you will be interviewing for, beyond the Relationship Management / Credit bit. My understanding is that the training program is about 2 years and involves moving around to a few different cities to train, but this is unclear as I am sure it changes for different roles within Corporate Banking.
PNC seems like a great company and the interviewers were fantastic. I just want more information about what I am getting myself into.
