Can I transition onto the street?

Hey guys I really want to work on the street but may not get picked up before I graduate. I’m currently a finance major at a nontarget school and not getting into a major finance firm is a possibility I do however have the opportunity to be a financial analyst for a Fortune 500 company(Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon) and was wonderful if it’s possible to transition to a financial firm later on or am I kind of screwed? Would like to know if possible what are any opportunities at all. Would like to work in the HF space one day, any feedback is helpful.
