Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us
Here's a video I recently stumbled upon that I thought was quite interesting. It discusses the factors behind motivation claiming that autonomy, mastery, and purpose are what drive us to excel and achieve.
Great clip. Explains WSO to some extent!
Some of the other content on thersa.org is also pretty cool.
Yeah, I was thinking exactly the same thing. I remember watching Patrick's interview with Mixergy, and he mentioned how he was working 50 to 60 hour weeks in PE while working an additional 20 on WSO. The difference was the latter 20 hours didn't seem like work to him, as he actually enjoyed putting together his own thing. At one point in the interview, he also mentions how although WSO wasn't financially rewarding in the beginning, the fact that people in the community were succeeding (i.e. non-targets breaking in, etc.) was more intrinsically rewarding than the money in high-finance. So I definitely can draw the parallels between the clip and WSO.
Thanks for the link. Nice picture!
great video - thanks for sharing this.
Wow, this video is awesome. This gives me some ideas for my own organization.
That was awesome, and explains why I had a shitty day at work today.
LOL, I'm watching Office Space right now, petergibbons.
