Ultimate prestige. Finance is sometimes looked down upon for being greedy but combine it with an educational instigation and you are a rich saint.

Other factors are

-If your at a t20 university there is a good chance you will be 5 billion + AUM

-ONE OF THE BIGGEST- you will meet so many powerful people since you outsource a lot of your investing, as an associate you could be meeting with a CIO of a Megafund, you'll probably know the president of the university personally as well. The president of the endowment (also on board of trustees of school) will be on speed dial and they often were already CIOs at Megafunds who wanted to help out their alma matter. You also tend to make more decisions because the office is small.

-You get to seriously help family friends get into 15% acceptance rate schools. Technically you work at the university.

-The exit-ops for the aforementioned reasons are incredible from what I hear.
