Greatest Financial Opportunities in the GCC over the 10 Years

Hi all,
I’m an Australian working at a Big 4 Management Consulting firm (Consultant, 2 YOE) and hoping to gain insight on the strongest pathway to achieve my goals.

Over the long term I’d love to live in the GCC (ideally the UAE). Particularly due to the tax environment, weather and access to capital pools. As the financial services space in the GCC continues to grow, I’m aiming to plan my next steps and position my experience to best enable me to maximise financial outcomes long term as my career develops over the next decade.

Naturally, I’m aware the exp that comes with IB, carries the best exit opps, which is something I’m trying to break into within Australia before pivoting overseas. I’ve considered a move to NYC/London for ~3-5 years before the GCC for the quality of the experience vs Australia also.

The question is, I’m yet to nail down a concrete field within Finance in the GCC that I’m set on making a life out of/will best optimise long term financial outcomes over the long term. In a perfect world, I’d love to have my own practice eventually, but whether that’s in PE, Private Credit, or something different/new entirely remains unknown.

Would be great to hear the perspectives/advice of others as I explore this
