Hate accounting, finance an option?

Ppl often call accounting the language of business.

I took an accounting class and that shit is really boring.

Is a career in finance an option if one hates accounting?

Do u like accounting/are there ppl who like that at all?

You don't have to love it...just understand it. You don't have to be looking up codifications in FASB or anything. Just know how the financial statements work.

Heya Charles,

I completely understand where you come from. After I took my first accounting module, I had great distaste for it because I found that it scarcely made sense! I concluded there and then that accounting was not for me.

But here I am doing my second stint in an off-cycle internship at an EB in M&A and absolutely enjoying myself and the learning that comes with it. Yes, I am still not a big fan of accounting but I'm giving it second chances and although I'm no pro, I'm getting more comfortable with it and that helps LOADS. So maybe my advice is to keep an open mind and give it a shot (besides finance although involving accounting, has many other aspects as well).

Hope this helps!
