Help!! Get a Job as a Bank Examiner with a JD

I'm a BBA in Finance and JD. Wish to move into a bank examiner role at the Office of Comptroller of the Currency. Problem is that I interviewed with them last Spring and got the ding. The interviewer practically suggested I was "overqualified". Too much prior experience working at a bank along with internship at SEC plus a JD. Most of the candidates I was up against had virtually no work experience and only Bachelor's degrees.

Any suggestions to "convince" them that I can fit in?

I interviewed with the OCC years ago and got the ding. It is a job for entry level kids. They are looking for someone who is going to move up the chain and be lifers. Check out the Treasury Dept, they have bank examiners also. They might be more receptive.
