How tough is the move from community (less than $1B) to corporate banking as a credit analyst?

Someone shared their transition on here from community to corporate, but I can't find it now. I'm in a situation where I'm apparently struggling to get a credit analyst position, so I'm looking at smaller banks as I was previously ignoring them. Is there specific experience that corporate bankers are looking for in candidates? Trying to make the switch within 1.5 years.
