Opportunities in San Francisco

Hey,

Going to be moving to San Francisco soon (well 2012) and was just wondering what sort of opportunities are there for finance?

Are there many MM/Boutique firms in San Fran? How difficult is it to come across a finance job there (coming from Big 4 Audit background so not ideal. Doesnt need to be BB). Do the Big 4 firms do much advisory stuff there?

Id also be interested in Equity research positions.

Aside from that how is San Fran to live there? Good points, bad points, things to look out for.
