Do you enjoy your work? I think a lot of the (younger, especially) people on WSO shit on the middle and back offices, but honestly it ain't a bad gig at all when you factor in time and stress levels. I personally probably wouldn't enjoy the job, but to each his own.
Thoughts on the level of quantitative background required for risk? I don’t know too much about this area but the people I usually see end up in risk have strong math or engineering backgrounds. Maybe just the people I know though.
