Research in motion (RIM) corp fin. first round
Got a first round with RIM corp dev. I've only ever done IBD/S&T interviews and don't know exactly what to expect. What should I prepare and do?

Can a company run it's own sale? I can tell you that the likelihood of large acquisitions in the near future are pretty slim - be weary.
A friend of mine completed a finance (but had some marketing aspects too) internship/co-op with RIM and had a great experience. Ended up being right next to Lazardis as he presented a new product to the media. She was able to leverage her RIM experience and get some good positions afterwards. I think there is still some merit on having RIM on your resume, but like the previous poster said, I'm not sure how much action you'll get.
If it makes any difference - my friend got to go to a ton of Raptors games in the company box. Maybe they do Blue Jays games in the summer? haha
No RIM-specific advice here, but corp dev interviews will use a mix of IBD questions like "Run me through a DCF," and consulting-like questions like "What do you think about the tablet market right now?" or even a mini-case or market sizing. If you have prior IBD experience, then you can be ~75% on the case questions, but you have to be 100% on finance technicals.
To reiterate Sovjet's sentiment, if you get an offer, tread carefully. I'm sure you know RIM is a prime candidate to get bought in the next year or two. Could mean you start with RIM and end up working at a cool place like Amazon. Could also mean you lose your job.
Thanks for the help. I know RIM doesn't have the brightest future ahead of it but I struck out during IBD SA OCR and am looking for alternatives that I can use to position myself well for FT recruiting. I'll try and make the best of it.
