Senior Interested in Non-IB Corp Finance, Help (preferably from those in the industry)

Fellow posters,

I am currently a senior at a non-target for IB and although I have an interest in M&A, etc. I realize that coming from a non-target background in this tough of a job environment isn't really realistic, especially since I'm not an outstanding applicant to be quite honest. Plus, I eventually want to work within a company (was going to leverage my theoretical IB background into upper level finance positions within the firm versus the PE/HF path), I figured that I might as well broaden my horizons and apply to F500 firms right out of the gate.

Having said that, I need help in reviewing my resume (want to do this by PM and keep my anonymity on this forum) and how to go about networking for these positions. I applied to tons of firms last year using online apps, but a lot of the time that stuff goes into a black hole and I need help standing out from the crowd, one way being networking. My school gets a few firms to recruit, but they only take a couple of people each year and I also want to try out some other firms. If anyone has advice/wants me to PM my anonymous resume, I'd really appreciate it.
