Signing Bonuses

Are signing bonuses always apart of the hiring process in banking? Just received and offer at a BB bank and did receive a signing bonuse/ relocation package. It's located in the city. Should I contact HR to see if they can make ammend the package to include a signing bonus so that I could move out of my parents house and closer to work?

Not quite understanding your question... but no not all banks give signing bonuses and/or relocation. A MM i was interviewing with was not giving either and I know GS gave out only relocation,. (However, it came to the same total amount as other BBs since they technically included the signing bonus within the relocation amount.)

Assuming you are junior, most likely you wouldn't be able to negotiate on entry bonus/relo... be thankful you have a job and congratulations!
