Suggestions on interesting/atypical careers

Hello all-

I'm a former IBD analyst who is now considering what to do next and for a career. My background is: finance + accounting in undergrad. Two years at a bulge bracket bank. Got good deal experience and have good references there. Also briefly worked at a startup investment firm. Took the GMAT and did well, and had close to a 4.0 in college, so going back to school is certainly a possibility.

The problem is I still don't know what I want to do. No disrespect towards people in these areas, but I found banking to be too much of a salesman's grind and similarly, I can't see myself doing the same PE buyout deals for the next 30 years.

I'm open to suggestions for some interesting careers in finance/business. My two main focuses are to 1) do something interesting that makes a positive contribution to society and 2) be financially stable.
