Interning for a major brand developer can only help you with future interviews at other brand named developers. The notion that this could "hurt my chances" is very odd thinking to be honest. Now, if you have two competing offers, then you can make a case between two alternatives. But, this sounds like a big win. Getting internships and even FT with developer firms is not easy, so this should really up your chances of a FT offer (either return or at other firm).

I have a competing offer at a more regional developer that focuses more on office and retail. Does the name brand of the first offer trump the exposure I would get at the second one? I just wanted to know cause I’m still leaning to towards the first cause of the name standing out more on resumes since I don’t have previous experience at a National developer.
