Winning the World Series of business

So my favorite part of watching the World Series is when, after they win, they show the reactions of all of the players on the field the second they win. All their hard work and busting their ass has paid off, and now they're on cloud nine.

Is there a "winning of the World Series" for business? It doesn't seem like much could compare to winning the championship of a major league sport. You know you're the best team, and nobody can take that away from you... the season is over, done, and you're on top. Whereas in business, even if you become the best company in your industry, a bad decision can ruin you in a matter of days.

This is probably very subjective so I'm interested in hearing what you guys would consider being the defining moment in your career, where you know you're the real deal and right when that happens, you'll leap for joy just as the Cardinals have done tonight...

Albert Pujols went 1 for 20 something and still managed to bat over .250 and become the first hitter in 30+ years to hit 3 HRs in one WS game. It is pretty fucking sad that we don't collectively celebrate this man who realistically (when you count Bonds' steroid tainted wins) should have no less than 7 MVP awards by now.

Oh yeah, fuck Chris Carpenter. Just because I said so.

Some people have nightmares about being killed, beaten, set on fire, take your pick...

Met fans have recurring nightmares about Adam Wainwright's curve ball and Carlos Beltran's buckling knee.

I wish I could forget that.

St. Louis is not a better team than the Rangers they just hit a ridiculous stride that carried them from 10 games out of the playoffs in late August to the World Series. Complete bullshit that a wildcard team would have home field advantage over a division winner.
