Working for tech company, want to go tech IB
Last summer (2016), I worked in investment banking for a boutique and during my senior year of college I got the opportunity to work for an upcoming tech company that is going public early next year. I received options and it was a great incentive to work there, plus it has been a really cool experience so far. After about 6 months of working there, I want to work in IB. I understand the hard work that goes into getting an IB (networking, networking, networking, etc), but I want to know if anyone has any advice for someone in my position. Is there a way to get an analyst IB job after working another job? After this experience I've had for this company, I'd like to work in the technology IB space.
Have you had the chance to meet the bankers taking the company public? That could be a great starting point.
