1st Year Private Equity Associate Tips

All -

I finally made the move to private equity and am starting at a LMM ($300-$500M) fund this summer. I'm curious to hear from current private equity professionals on some best practices / tips to make the move from IB. Trying to get an understanding of what to keep in mind and major differences between the junior IB role and the junior PE role, as well as any guidance on modeling, IC memo writing, or diligence.

Appreciate any help!

Thanks a lot. This is super helpful. One additional question - how did you see the modeling part of the job change from when you first joined? I obviously went through the case study / 3hr modeling test part so I have a baseline expectation of what it will be, but I'm just curious if there are more practical pieces of that workstream that you've developed since being a 1st year.
