Anyone that I can pm to chat about pe recruiting/type of funds/other

Hello, I'm an incoming SA who is interested in following the traditional pe route. I have some private equity experience on the credit side (yes, I understand that credit is different), which helped me understand a bit more about the industry, but I'm still somewhat confused when it comes to recruiting and if my product group would limit me to certain types of pe.

I will be interning at a top group, so I should have no problems getting some mf looks for associate recruiting, but im not sure if this is the same case for analyst roles recruiting (assuming I get a return offer).

I would appreciate it if I could pm someone regarding the questions that I have. Fair warning, some of my questions might be a little dumb. I also understand that this is pretty early, but I like planning from early on and refining my plan as I go.
